A group of men foiled a suspected acid attacker’s plans by beating him up outside a supermarket in east London. He is said to have reached into his pocket and pulled out a bottle before throwing the substance around. Footage of the incident, which happened near Maryland station in Stratford at about 1.30am on Tuesday, was posted on Facebook by a witness, who wrote: ‘Justice has been served.

‘This pathetic excuse of a human just got fucked up after trying to attack someone with acid in Stratford, Maryland.’ The witness, who was helping out in the supermarket and asked not to be named, told Metro.co.uk that the man asked the three Polish men for change and a drink after they left the shop. When they declined, the man is said to have become aggressive.

He got beaten up and other locals started pulling them away. So he got up but was wobbling everywhere and genuinely had no eyesight for a good minute. ‘He got up, went in his pocket and took the knife out, jumped on his bike and rode off.’
