MILWAUKEE - A gun battle and subsequent crash on a Milwaukee street was captured by a doorbell camera.

The shooting on the city's northwest side Sunday evening, March 20, ended with a head-on crash between two vehicles.

Milwaukee police say seven people were arrested after the crash near 77th and Lisbon. One of those in custody is a 15-year-old boy.

It is unclear what led to the shooting. But according to the doorbell camera video, you can hear the gunshots being fired before two sedans smash head-on.

Several people ran from the vehicles – and then come back over the next several minutes. One person was trapped in the vehicle and needed to be pulled out by firefighters.

"Not only, ticked off. Right now, I'm still shaking from what happened last night. Because I felt like I was in an actual cop movie. I watch them, I don't want to be part of them," said Jeaninne Bauer, who was at home at the time of the shooting and crash.

Bauer told FOX6 News something needs to be done.

"You think people are viewing this as a game?" asked Bauer rhetorically. "I think so. Because why would you do this? This is your life. If you don't care about anybody else's life, it's your life."

FOX6 News can say a 20-year-old man was arrested on a recommended charge of armed robbery. An 18-year-old woman was also booked on endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, as a party to a crime. Also arrested – three 18-year-old men, a 17-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old boy.

Police say charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

Upon arrival, officers met crowds of people exiting the mall stating that a male wearing a blue shirt was involved in a physical altercation with an officer inside of a business. Witnesses stated the male suspect took the officer’s weapon and shot the officer (Constable Deputy Adams). Officers entered the mall and located Harrison coming from the second floor. He was wielding a knife.

Officers took cover and utilized voice commands, but Harrison refused to comply with orders. When Harrison began charging at the officers. two officers discharged their duty weapons, striking Harrison. Harrison fell, got up and attempted to flee. Officers utilized a conducted energy device (Taser), causing Harrison to fall to the ground. Harrison continued to resist and officers eventually were able to place him into custody. Paramedics then transported Harrison to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

PITTSBURG — Police released audio and video depicting a man’s shooting by an officer last month at the end of an hours-long mental-health episode at a hotel.

Authorities identified the man as Ashton Porter, 45, of Alpharetta, Ga. Porter has been charged with five counts of assault upon a firefighter or police officer, one count of trespass or refusing to leave private property and one count of vandalism over $400, according to charging documents.

Police released a video Tuesday that used footage from multiple officers’ body-worn cameras. An accompanying statement acknowledged that the department’s 20-hour response meant that some officers’ cameras were not recording, due to drained batteries, as the incident ended.

The video shows various portions of the standoff, which began about 12:30 p.m. Feb. 23. Officers responded to the Hampton Inn Suites, 1201 California Ave., after dispatchers began receiving calls about sounds of yelling, smashed items and breaking window glass from a man on the inn’s fourth floor.

“We have a guest that is basically not opening his door and at the same time you can clearly hear that there’s glass that’s being broken and he’s also screaming and placing something in front of the door,” an employee told a dispatcher. The worker added that the guest was screaming for help and that family members were present but that police presence was needed.

An officer who soon arrived spoke with family members and learned that the man was having a mental-health issue and had barricaded himself inside the room with furniture and broken a room window.

After the man declined police requests through the room door to speak with them or exit the room, claiming that he was fine and “just needed time,” officers reached out to the department’s crisis-intervention team and the county’s mental-health evaluation team and mobile crisis-response teams for help.

Members of both teams joined other family members in speaking to the man, who continued to deny needing help and refusing to explain his status.

Around 9 p.m., after hearing the man say he wanted to “end it all” and learning the man had a knife, police used a truck with a boom arm extended up to the hotel’s fourth floor to place a plywood sheet over the room’s broken window. At the same time, members of the department’s tactical team arrived to assist officers.

Both county teams left the hotel shorty after midnight after the man’s continued refusal to come out. Remaining officers tried to talk to him through the door until around 6:40 a.m., when he managed to stick a knife through a damaged hole in the door toward a tactical-team officer.

“If at any point in time you want to listen to what I’ve been trying to tell you, we’re going to make sure you come out and everything’s safe and I can make you a lot more comfortable,” an officer told the man in part. “But the longer you don’t listen to me, the worse it’s going to get for you. I’ve been nothing but honest with you.”

“I know,” the man said. “But I don’t feel safe.” The officer answers: “The only safety you’ve got is listening to me.”

Soon after, officers began using rounds of chemical irritants and kept talking to try to get the man to come out of the room. Shortly after 8:10 a.m., he relented and came out, holding a butcher-style knife in his hand.

After two officers in the hallway struck the man with less-lethal sponge projectiles to no effect, he turned toward officers at one end of the hallway with the knife raised over his head. At that point, an officer used his service weapon to shoot the man, hitting him twice and knocking the knife to the floor.

Paramedics staged at the scene joined officers in providing medical care before taking him to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A nurse was left with three broken ribs and a broken clavicle after she was thrown down the stairs of a Seattle rail station in a brutal unprovoked attack.

Alexander Jay, 40, was caught on camera repeatedly throwing the victim and then kicking her during the vicious assault, say King County prosecutors.

Police say that the attack was unprovoked and that the 62-tear-old victim needed surgery to fix her broken clavicle.

As she got to her feet after the initial attack, security video shows the victim being grabbed again and thrown down another stretch of the concrete steps.

The suspect then allegedly tried to grab her and throw her for a third time, but the victim is seen clinging to a railing.

After kicking and punching the victim, the suspect then ran up the stairs and fled the scene.

“The male who assaulted her was in the same car on the light rail train with her, facing her,” a detective stated in the probable cause certificate.

“She was standing, and he was seated. They had no interaction or confrontation. He continued to pull his mask down while on the light rail, and she got a good look at his face. The cross (tattoo) on his face stood out to her, and she recognized him as the same male who later assaulted her.”

A security guard eventually came to the woman’s aid

The suspect was arrested by Seattle police the day after the attack and faces arraignment on second-degree assault on 24 March, according to KIRO7.

As of Monday he remains in prison on a $150,000 bail.

Court documents state that the suspect has criminal convictions in the state of Washington including burglary, theft, selling stolen property and several instances of domestic violence.

He also has prior convictions in California for theft, drug possession, auto theft and burglary.

Courts in Washington have issued more than 15 bench warrants for the suspect failing to attend hearings.
