New London, Connecticut — On November 26, 2023, at approximately 1:52 p.m., New London police received a report of shots fired at the Americas Best Value Inn located at 380 Bayonet Street, New London. Once at that address, police were directed to Room 259. There, they spoke to a witness who stated that 42-year-old Christopher Nolan, came into the room and fired a round out of the room’s window at an unidentified party. Police also learned that Nolan had fled to the adjacent Clarion Inn Hotel. New London officers commenced a room-by-room search of the Clarion Inn looking for Nolan. Nolan was ultimately located at Room 221.

An occupant of Room 221 allowed police to enter. Once inside, officers observed Nolan pressed against the window in an apparent effort to escape so as to elude arrest. Officers observed a gun in Nolan’s hand and when he turned toward them, Officer Joseph Not, Officer Annie Agnew, and Officer Seth Bolduc fired their weapons. Nolan sustained multiple gunshot wounds. New London officers immediately rendered medical aid to Nolan. Police recovered a revolver from the windowsill where Nolan had been standing. Emergency Medical Services transported Nolan to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was subsequently transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven. He was listed as being in good condition on Wednesday, according to the hospital.

Winter Park, Florida — On November 28, 2023 at approximately 7:26 p.m., the Winter Park Police Department responded to the Winter Park Village located at 520 N. Orlando Avenue for an armed carjacking to a valet attendant. The attendant advised he was parking a red Chevrolet Corvette when the suspect, 34-year-old Javon Hines threatened him with a gun and fled in the vehicle. Hines was located in the vehicle at the 1700 block of Lee Road and after a short foot pursuit was taken into custody. Hines is facing nine different charges for his actions on Tuesday night including armed carjacking, resisting arrest and grand theft. He’s being held in the Orange County jail with no bond set.

Records show this was Hines’ second felony arrest this year alone. He also has three additional felony cases currently open in Orange County for burglary, criminal mischief, and driving with a revoked license as a habitual offender. Back in July, investigators say he was caught behind the wheel of a black Range Rover that had been reported stolen out of Tampa. In December of last year, he admitted to officers that “he is a thief and frequently breaks in cars and steals items from them to make money” after detectives caught him committing a smash-and-grab burglary of an SUV in a Disney parking lot. They later found gloves and a ski mask in his vehicle.

Louisville, Kentucky — On Monday, November 13th, 2023, around 2:30 p.m., LMPD 4th Division Officers were dispatched to a domestic violence run in the 1000 block of Beecher Street. When officers arrived on scene at the home, they encountered a male suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jaron Bobbitt, sitting in a vehicle in a driveway. Bobbitt was armed with an AR-style pistol. Bobbitt then led officers on a foot chase through a densely populated neighborhood. The officers repeatedly commanded Bobbitt to drop the weapon. Bobbitt refused to comply despite being told to drop the gun multiple times.

An LMPD officer discharged his weapon striking Bobbitt when Bobbitt pointed the loaded AR-style pistol at the officer. Officers immediately rendered life-saving aid. Bobbitt stated to officers that the firearm was a “toy gun". Investigators discovered that the gun was not a toy and was, in fact, fully loaded with live ammunition. Medics transported Bobbitt to University of Louisville Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released the next day on Tuesday, November 14th. The domestic violence victim sustained multiple injuries to include a knot on forehead, a bruised and black left eye, and pain and swelling to the back of her head. Bobbitt is facing multiple charges for causing the victim's injuries and fleeing from officers.
