Ferguson, Missouri — The St. Louis County Police Department released its critical incident briefing of a December police shooting that left a man dead after he shot at officers. The briefing is related to the Dec. 12 police shooting of Jeremi Moore, a 35-year-old man police said shot at officers. Police were called to the 600 block of Carson Rd. shortly after 8:30 p.m. for a man flourishing a handgun. Officers were searching for Moore and found him around 8:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Tiffin Avenue. Police said the man pulled out a gun and shot at them. One of the officers shot back at the man, killing him. The two Ferguson police officers who were fired upon were not injured. Still, they called for backup and several area departments responded, including the North County Police Cooperative and St. Louis County Police Department. Police said first responders administered aid, but Moore died a short time later. A gun was found about 10 feet from Moore, and a shell casing police said was fired from the gun was found behind the home.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A near-deadly crash was caught on camera in Colorado as authorities use the incident as a startling example of why the “Move Over” law was created.

The dramatic scene played out on Tuesday in Adams County along I-25 at about 11:35 a.m. According to Colorado State Patrol, Master Trooper Travis Hood stopped a Kia sedan near 58th Avenue for speeding. The vehicle pulled over onto the large shoulder to the left of the HOV lane. As Master Trooper Hood was walking from the Kia to his motorcycle, a Dodge minivan smashed into the back of the Kia. Master Trooper Hood didn’t hesitate and immediately jumped into action to check on everyone involved while calling for assistance.

The driver of the Kia had “moderate” injuries. The driver of the minivan was from Avondale and had minor injuries. There were two passengers in the minivan who had “moderate” injuries. The driver of the minivan was cited for careless driving causing injury.

“Every day law enforcement officers and other roadway workers put themselves at risk in an effort to improve safety on our roadways,” says Colonel Matthew Packard, Chief of the Colorado State Patrol. “Sadly incidents like these happen with incredible frequency and we are fortunate that a bigger tragedy didn’t play out yesterday on I-25. We are sharing this footage because it underscores the responsibility of drivers to move over and pay attention behind the wheel. There is no excuse for driving past any stopped vehicle at this rate of speed.”

PHOENIX (AP) — Police on Thursday released 26 seconds of the body camera footage of last week’s ambush and barricade situation at a Phoenix home that left five patrol officers shot and wounded and four others injured by shrapnel or ricochets.

The brief but graphic footage showed the initial responding police officer walking toward the front door of a home where a woman reportedly had been shot around 2 a.m. last Friday.

As the 23-year-old officer moved closer, he asks the shirtless man in the door who else is in the house.

The officer is heard running frantically from the scene saying “”99! 999! I’ve been shot! 999!” as more gunshots ring out.

Investigators believe the shooter was 36-year-old Morris Richard Jones III and his ex-girlfriend — 29-year-old Shatifa Lobley of Phoenix — was the woman who was shot inside the home in a domestic dispute.

Police said Lobley later died after being taken to a hospital.

The rest of the body-cam footage may be released by next Friday, according to police.

After the initial incident, Lobley’s brother came out the house with a baby and put the child on the porch in a carrier, then walked to police.

But when officers moved in to get the 1-month-old girl, police said Jones opened fire again.

Jones was later found dead in the home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The child of Jones and Lobley was unharmed.

All nine of the police officers injured have been released from the hospital.

On Monday, East Cleveland Police were called to Best Steak and Gyros House at the Forrest Hill shopping center. According to police, the man in the video was causing a disturbance in the restaurant.

“On your stomach!” the officer ordered. “On your stomach! Stay down! Put your arms out now!”

Police said the officer believed the man in the video may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol or dealing with a mental health issue.

“Yeah, you wanna act a fool in here,” the officer told the man in the body camera video. “You don’t wanna listen. I don’t know how many times I gotta tell you get the f*** on the ground, and you don’t wanna get the f*** on the ground.”

The officer then took the man to UH for a mental evaluation. In the body camera video, you can hear the officer warn the hospital before he takes him there.

“Advise, UH, he’s uh being aggressive,” the officer said.

East Cleveland police said no arrest was made in this case.

“Lucky you didn’t meet my dog,” the officer told the man when they were standing in the hospital lobby. “Last person had to have reconstructive surgery on his arm.”
